Kihonge Kagiri who is serving as the Chairperson is a a seasoned realtor who found chemistry in helping Kenyans-both locally and abroad secure their future through property ownership. Although he pursued leather technology in Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, he shifted to sales and marketing for two years before going into entrepreneurship where he founded Epic Prime Investment Limited and serves as the CEO Besides business, Kagiri is an advocate of Climate, leadership and governance, and public speaker, a strategic, and visionary in policy and business development. This is through his participation in Lapid Leaders Africa and Attic Community Before his current role,Kagiri worked in real estate acquisition in a real estate firm where he gained valuable experience in real estate sector, leadership, business growth and development. Kagiri commitment extends beyond his professional career, and is evident in his interests in Alumni growth, learning and networking.

Fellow Alumni, It is with deep honor and gratitude that I step into the role of Chairperson of the Dedan Kimathi University Alumni Association (DEKUTAA). Together, we are part of a vibrant and accomplished community whose collective strength lies in our shared history, values, and vision for the future. My commitment is to make DEKUTAA a thriving hub of belonging, connection, and growth—not only in our professional journeys, but also in expanding networks, creating opportunities, and giving back to the institution that shaped us. To achieve this, I look forward to working with each of you to realize the Five Pillars of My Leadership Agenda: 1. Revitalizing the Alumni Network * Building a dynamic online platform to connect alumni across the globe. * Hosting regular networking events—both physical and virtual—for mentorship, career growth, and business collaboration. * Launching an alumni business and skills directory to showcase our collective potential. 2. Alumni Benefits Program * Establishing exclusive benefits such as training opportunities, professional development courses, and alumni discounts. * Revamping the alumni welfare fund to support members in times of need. * Introducing a loyalty card for access to partner business offers. 3. Student and Alumni Empowerment Projects * Partnering with the university and private sector to develop a modern student center, partly funded by alumni contributions. * Creating structured mentorship and internship programs for students and recent graduates. * Organizing workshops and seminars led by accomplished alumni across industries. 4. Sustainability and Institutional Support * Leading fundraising campaigns for infrastructure projects, scholarships, and research initiatives that will secure the university’s growth for generations to come. 5. Celebrating Alumni Achievements * Establishing an annual alumni awards ceremony to honor outstanding contributions. * Launching an alumni magazine/newsletter to share stories, updates, and opportunities. * Creating a “Wall of Fame” on campus to inspire future generations. This is not just my agenda—it is our shared vision. Every alumnus is a vital part of this journey. Together, we can make DEKUTAA a model of excellence, influence, and impact. Let us embrace this new chapter with unity, pride, and purpose. Our future is as strong as our collective will to shape it.

Joshua Mutahi

Joshua Mutahi Gatheru is a seasoned finance professional with an MBA (Finance) degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) degree from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology. Currently serving as an Accountant at Semiconductor Technologies Limited, he has played a pivotal role since the company's inception. Joshua is a proud member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Institute of Internal Auditors of Kenya (IIA).

Before his current role, Joshua served as an Auditor in an audit firm, where he gained valuable experience in audit procedures and financial scrutiny, thereby enhancing his proficiency in the field. Additionally, Joshua worked as a Researcher at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology in the Department of School of Business. During this period, Joshua collaborated on several publications with fellow researchers, focusing on the field of Finance. Notably, he co-authored "Liquidity Management and Financial Sustainability of Deposit Taking SACCOs in Mount Kenya Region" in The Strategic Journal of Business & Change Management, 7(2), 270 – 284. Joshua has also been part of the team at the Kenya-based Agri-tech startup, Apollo Agriculture. Furthermore, he has worked as a Financial Analyst (Accounting) in the Banking Sector. Joshua's commitment extends beyond his professional endeavors, evident in his voluntary memberships with the Kenya Red Cross and Rotary International.

Dancan Mumo

Dancan Mumo is skilled in designing, analyzing, and optimizing mechanical systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology. Proficient in CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, ANSYS, Abaqus, Creo, and SolidWorks, he develops high-precision models and simulations to enhance engineering performance. His experience spans mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and engineering analysis, enabling him to deliver efficient and innovative solutions. His proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and thermal analysis ensures the effective optimization of mechanical components and systems. Beyond his technical expertise, he is a visionary and organized leader who excels at setting clear goals, managing tasks efficiently, and fostering collaboration to achieve shared objectives. He served as the Secretary General of the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology Students' Organization (2022–2023), where he was responsible for managing records, organizing meetings, overseeing student representation, and serving as the organization's official spokesperson. Additionally, he held the role of Sports, Security, and Entertainment Secretary (2021-2022), demonstrating his ability to coordinate and lead initiatives that impact a broad community. His leadership experience highlights his ability to communicate effectively, drive innovation, and uphold inclusivity and ethical integrity in all responsibilities. Dancan combines technical mastery with strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. His resilience, integrity, and results-driven mindset make him a valuable asset in engineering and managerial roles alike.

After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Purchasing and supplies management, she currently serves as the Assistant Secretary General of the DeKUT Alumni Association, she brings both professionalism and heart to every role she undertakes. Beyond her career in banking, Charity is deeply passionate about community growth and sports where she was a captain for the school Table Tennis team that won many national titles including the East Africa games hence believing in the power of teamwork both on the field and in the outside world. With a warm personality and a natural leadership style, she continues to make an impact wherever she goes.

DAVID NYAGA

David Nyaga is a dynamic and detail-oriented accounting professional with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology. With experience spanning financial advising, procurement, and accounting roles, David brings a well-rounded and practical understanding of financial operations in both corporate and institutional environments. He currently serves as an Account Assistant at Masaba Services Limited, where he supports financial reporting, payroll processing, Budget preparation and procurement activities, leveraging his skills in SAP Accounting Systems, Quickbooks and KRA iTax tools. Previously, David worked as a Financial Advisor at APA Insurance, where he honed his client engagement and financial planning capabilities, consistently meeting sales targets and providing tailored insurance solutions. His early exposure during his industrial attachment at P.C.E.A Tumutumu Hospital further solidified his foundational skills in financial documentation, ledger management, and reporting.

Currently, Irene is an entrepreneur, building her own ventures, while also working as a data analyst, applying her finance knowledge and analytical skills to deliver impactful solutions. With her passion for fashion and designs she also works part time as a fashion designer. She envisions creating a vibrant platform for all Dedan Kimathi university of Technology alumni to connect, foster professional relationships among the alumni, facilitate networking opportunities, contribute to the growth of the association and ensure that it becomes a resourceful and supportive entity for all members.
